The HTX Internship Programme is designed for college, polytechnic and university students/undergraduates and graduates to experience how Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are applied to create solutions that keep Singapore safe and secure.

With the “X” symbolising energy, vitality, and HTX’s role as the Home Team’s Force Multiplier, it represents how HTX integrates STEM talents and capabilities across the Home Team to develop and deliver cutting-edge technologies to solve crimes, save lives, secure our borders, safeguard our data and systems, and enhance public safety.

Students, undergraduates and graduates may consider applying for internship under the following HTX pillars and divisions, subject to their suitability and availability of projects for interns.

During their stint, interns will gain personal development and growth through exposure to senior technical leaders and mentors, tackle challenging projects, and gain valuable insights on how our technologies are applied in real-world situations.

• Students pursuing (or going to pursue) tertiary qualification in STEM disciplines/background (Engineering, Computer Science, Sciences, Data Science and AI and/or relevant specialisations), with skills relevant to the science and technology domains and are tech savvy.
• Students from non-STEM disciplines/backgrounds can consider interning with the divisions under HTX's Capability Planning pillar.
• The ideal HTX intern should be curious, creative, collaborative, driven and mission-oriented.

Internship duration:

• For a meaningful internship experience, interns should generally commit at least 2 months full-time.
• Due to the academic schedule, students in IP year 4-5 and JC 1 should commit at least 1 month during the June and December school holidays, subject to availability of suitable projects.
• Due to the nature of work, those who wish to intern with CBRNE are required to commit for at least 4 months full-time.

You can either apply for an HTX internship directly with HTX, or via your school portals.

1.  Apply directly with HTX

There are 2 internship application cycles in HTX. To better match you to suitable internship projects, you ought to submit your applications during these cycles:

• January/February cycle for internship starting from May onwards.
• August cycle for internship starting from December onwards.

In the event you missed the application cycles, you can still submit your request for an internship via HTX’s Contact Us form. However, do note that your ad hoc applications are subject to availability of internship projects, as priority will be given to students/undergraduates and graduates who have applied through the regular application cycles.

2.  Apply via your school portals / credit-bearing internship

You may also apply for internship through your polytechnic / university’s internship portals (e.g. NTU InPlace, NUS TalentConnect, SIT ReadyTalent) for credit-bearing internships.

If you are keen to complete credit-bearing internships with HTX, but cannot find suitable projects in your school’s internship portal, you may submit a separate request to HTX via the Contact Us form to express your interest.
